For those of you
following the squad, you will notice that things are coming
along nicely! I'd like to thank razlebol's friend
Patrick Lauzier for providing us the badass new logos for
the clan--awesome stuff!
In other news, I've
completely overhauled the
members page to include XFire
profiles for all confirmed members. Using XFire is a
vital part of being on the ShackSquad, so please set it to
start-up when you start your computer. If you have it
installed but are never logged in then it is useless!
For example, just last
night a group of clan members were able to quickly join each
other on a Wolf: ET server by using XFire and working
together. It's an amazingly simple tool, so take
advantage of it!

Please note that we are
NOT taking new applications for membership at this time.
We are only confirming Shackers that are
already on the member list.
If you are not on the member list, then please do not
request membership at this time. We will announce at a
later date when new applications will be taken again.
Sorry for those of you
that missed the first wave of membership, but the clan needs
time to organize before more people can be let in.
Thanks for your
understanding,
PenicillinX57
3-21-07 (Update 2)
Things are progressing
nicely! Since this afternoon I've fleshed out more of
the site, added more members, and also added a few new
sections:
-
Guidelines- This one is
important. Go to the
guidelines page and make sure you do everything there!
Your ShackSquad membership is hinging on this!
-
Servers- Check out the first
official ShackSquad sanctioned game server, as well as
the Shack Teamspeak server. Be sure to mark these
as favorites.
-
Forum- We've hijacked the comment page from an old
Quake Wars news item on the Shack. Go and proclaim
the glory of the ShackSquad!
Be on the lookout for
more updates and a Wolf: ET shackbattle announement soon!

Welcome, ShackSquad
Members! As we work to get this clan started up
properly, please bear with us. The website here is
still under construction, so check back often for updates
and instructions on how to get the most enjoyment out of
your ShackSquad experience!
Now, for new members,
please follow the following instructions if you haven't
already:
-
Check out the
members page, and make sure that
you are listed there and that your profile links correctly
to your Shacknews profile. If it does not, then
Shackmessage me!
-
Update your Shacknews
profile page! Let people know who you are, what
games you have been playing, and some relevant contact
information. This will allow us to set up Shackbattles
much easier and to *gasp* promote a sense of community!
-
Download, install, and
register for XFire. This is going to be our
primary communication system for organizing clan games and
Shackbattles. Eventually, we will set up an XFire clan
so that everyone can easily join games and play with other
clan members.
-
Download and install
Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, and
update it to the
most current version. Until Enemy Territory: Quake
Wars is released, we will Shackbattle with it's predecessor
for practice!
-
Download and install the Teamspeak client. What
would a clan be without voice communication during
Shackbattles?!?!
OK, and in the meantime,
happy Shacking! A Shackbattle announcement will be
made soon!
